Call of Duty: Ghosts Accidentally Leaked

British retailer, Tesco, may have just dropped the ball and revealed the next Call of Duty.
According to a product listing on Tesco Direct, the next Call of Duty game will be subtitled "Ghosts," backing up the claims made by YouTube user, Drift0r, last month. The listing contains credible PlayStation 3 box art for "Call of Duty: Ghosts" with the Infinity Ward and Activison logo on the bottom. The box art also features a man putting on what seems to be the popular mask from Modern Warfare 2's Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley. Could the next Call of Duty be a prequel to Modern Warfare 2? If Drift0r's source remains correct, it wouldn't seem likely due the source stating that "'Ghosts' will be leaving the Modern Warfare era and entering the future."
The listing also shows a December 30, 2013 release date, but we can be assume that the date is just a place holder and we can probably expect the game in ealry November like all the previous Call of Duty release dates.
The posting has since been removed from Tesco. Luckily, the guys over at IGN were able to snag a screenshot before it was removed.

GTA V Live Action Commercial Images Leaked

Rockstar have been quiet lately with regards to the GTA V’s flow of information. This past weekend things encountered a refreshing change of pace. They were down in the drug ridden, and naturally beautiful environment that is Mexico. Whilst down under, they were apparently shooting a live action commercial aimed at bringing a theatrical flair to GTA V. Although gameplay is my preference, I don’t mind a well-done live action commercial, especially when it’s being shot in the streets of Mexico.
Reddit user marcodj caught a glimpse of the action as the commercial was being filmed right in front of his flat. “A GTA V ad was shot during the weekend in front of my building,” said Marc. “These are some photos I took.”

The GTA V banner in a few of these pictures ties it all together. Classical Grand Theft Auto elements are used. Car wrecks, general destruction, police presence, and downright chaos all look promising. This commercial will, hopefully, do a phenomenal job of promoting the already massively hyped game.
Rockstar haven’t commented on this leak yet; however, this looks fairly legitimate. More information will soon arrive. The games expected to be released on September 17 of this year.

How To Use The Wii U Gamepad On The PC

Tutorial and creation by vashgs over @ gbatemp.net

Downloads:

The downloads come in two flavors: Regular and Fat-Free! The "normal" download includes Node with NowJS (which is required for the server-side of this application). If you'd like a lighter download and to run your own Node/NowJS copy, feel free to grab the fat-free version.

Normal Release:
GamePadtoPC.rar [8.7MB]

Light Release (sans Node/NowJS):
GamePadtoPC-nonode.rar [332KB]

Tutorial (PC-only):

Installation:
1) Extract the contents of the archive to a directory on your local web server. I prefer to use XAMPP, but there are certainly plenty of options out there.

2) Open index.html in your favorite editor and change the IP address pointing to now.js to your PC's local IP address (ie. http://192.168.2.1:8080/nowjs/now.js). The port (although you can change it if you please, within server.js) will remain 8080, and the path to now.js will remain constant as well.

3) Run "regplugin.bat" OR alternatively, open a command prompt in the extracted content's directory and run "regsvr32 npWiiU.dll /s".

Usage:
1) Run "simpleserver.bat" OR alternatively, open a command prompt in the extracted content's directory and run "node server.js".

2) Navigate to the extracted content's directory on your local web server (ie. http://192.168.2.1/wiiu/) in the Wii U's Internet Browser.

3) Navigate to the pc.html page in your browser on the PC (ie. http://localhost/wiiu/pc.html).

4) Set your hotkeys from the PC side and enjoy!

By request, a quick XAMPP tutorial video:

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Uprising DLC With Video Preview

Recently Activision announced the second downloadable content for the notorious game Black Ops 2, which as rumors had shown, is to be titled Uprising. As per usual, the DLC will be making its first appearance on Xbox live set for April 16th. The pack will set you back 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) and if you're a season pass holder, this will be free to download on release; like previous add-on packs to the Call of Duty franchise, PS3 users can expect the content to be attainable one month later.
Uprising includes four multiplayer maps (Encore, Magma, Vertigo, and Studio), as well as a new Zombies map called Mob of the Dead. This mode takes players to the iconic island prison of Alcatraz situated in San Francisco, California. Players will be immersed into Mob of the Dead as excitement awaits at every turn, giving you a sudden impulse to fire your gun and this has been done in an attempt to keep the players enthusiasm high. The story will be including “some of Hollywood’s most iconic mobsters” which had been speculated. The characters include, Michael Madsen, Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri and Joe Pantoliano.
Mob of the Dead is to take an alternative approach to zombies which will be looking at a story of “four prohibition-era mobsters, Billy Handsome (Liotta), Al ‘The Weasel’ Arlington (Pantoliano), Salvatore ‘Sal’ DeLuca (Palmentiri) and Michael ‘Finn’ O'Leary (Madsen) serving time in Alcatraz Prison, only to discover that being behind bars is the least of their problems. With plans to break out of Alcatraz foiled by the rise of the undead, the quartet of inmates will have to lean on their mob-derived skills with firearms, blunt instruments and improvised weaponry as they battle the zombies infesting and overrunning the island.” They will also be implementing a new feature to zombies, a “Purgatory” feature. This new feature will “send players into the afterlife” if they become a casualty to the undead-horde.

The head of Treyarch Mark Lamia had the following to say, "With Uprising, the team has really outdone itself again. In addition to creating four amazing new multiplayer maps, the Studio has been hard at work on the Zombies front to surpass what we accomplished with Call of the Dead. What they've done this time around is nothing Zombies fans have seen before — and if you don't believe me, just wait until you get into Purgatory."
We can see a wide variety of action to be explored with this map-pack and with 4 new multiplayer maps going to be making their debut, we can be expecting a lot of commotion through-out. Multiplayer maps going to be added:
  • Magma - A modern Japanese village with volcanic eruptions carving multiple paths throughout the town
  • Encore - Takes place in the aftermath of a deserted London music festival with “numerous opportunities for run-and-gun, close quarters combat”
  • Vertigo - A futuristic high rise in India housing a high-tech lab featuring dizzying vistas and multi-tiered pathways
  • Studio - A remake of the original Black Ops’ Firing Range, set on a Hollywood movie back lot with a variety of cinematic themes that range from Sci-Fi to the Old West

Sony May Reveal the PS4 Before E3

Sony’s given us a plethora of information concerning their next generation console, the PS4. While the details covered console specs, controller specs, applications, games and other improvements, they did not show the console it self. To keep the fans, who are already edging with excitement, on the edge of their seats, Sony kept the actual PS4 under wraps. What many were, and still are, expecting is a reveal at E3; however, Sony may bless us a tad bit earlier.
Sources that have close ties with the highly – heavy emphasis on the “highly” - accredited PC Magazine have told them that Sony is planning a reveal which will make place prior to E3. “Expect a big announcement from Sony about its next-gen PlayStation 4 console this month or possibly in early May, a source familiar with the company's marketing strategy told PCMag this week,” wrote Damon Poeter of PC Mag. “Sony may be parceling out information about its coming game console to build up buzz, according to the source.”
They’ve got the whole “buzz” thing down, but hey, more “buzz” build up shouldn’t hurt as long as they deliver accordingly. This way, if Sony does reveal their actual console before E3, then they could use E3 to focus more on games. After all, we are gamers; we want to see games that innovate, push boundaries and blow our minds. Let’s leave the gritty and dirty details of core specifications to the masters. As long as they provide a solid framework to let the games push and surpass the limitations of the current generation, I, for one, will be very happy.

PlayStation 4 Will Appeal to Girl Gamers

Legendary tales whispered to children right before bedtime were stories that consisted of gripping mythical creatures; and those mythical creatures included harpies, dragons, chimeras, and best of all, girl gamers. You see, a few years back, girl gamers didn’t really exist. Well, they sort of did, but they were ultra rare, like a Lugia or something.

In all seriousness, though, gamers and gaming have been, more often than not, stereotyped as a male activity. Much of society portrayed young boys as having their eyes glued to a television while tightly gripping a Nintendo 64 controller while little girls were playing dollhouse with their blonde Barbie’s dressed in hot pink; a bit cliché, of course.
Let’s get real. In these modern times where technology is seemingly king, there is no restriction as to who should play what. Gaming isn’t gender specific. It’s expanding and this myth of a girl gamer is a striving part of today’s reality. Gaming has become a social activity; awkward enough because it sort of causes isolation, even while in large groups. Nonetheless, gaming has surpassed the days of gender bias.

Sony’s games chief, Andrew House, has recognized this event. He’s got high hopes for the PS4 as he has noticed the increase in women who play video games. “I think the key is to have people — and increasingly women — with different sensibilities creating different games. It is not all about shoot ’em up games,” said Andrew House. “We are not going down the route of making the console pink of course.” I have to agree with him here. Most of today’s games follow a boiled down formula. Many games can sadly be classified as “shoot ‘em up games.”
“The key is getting games developers — who are going to make the next Angry Birds — excited about the PS4. And they are, “ continued Mr. House. Angry Birds is largely successful and that goes without saying. Many of the gamers who play Angry Birds are female; but of course, they aren’t the only ones. Andrew House has gotten that in mind and is looking to expand the PS4’s audience beyond the “young male gamer.”
I take this as extremely satisfying news. Sure, the PS4 needs to expand its audience; but they also need to utilize imagination. If having female gamers in mind is the key to this expansion, then by all means, go right ahead! I’m getting weary of playing these “shoot ‘em games.” I want something different, something I’ve never played before. I want something to marvel about and something that will make me say, “wow.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Uprising DLC Material Leaked

Recently rumors have appeared that the next downloadable content for Black Ops 2 will be released this month titled "Uprising." The following information comes from a promotional piece of material that appears to be very legitimate and supports all the rumors.
Black Ops 2′s Uprising DLC will include four new multiplayer maps; Vertigo, Magma, Encore and Studio, as-well as adding on another map for zombies; Mob of the Dead, which is to be “Treyarch’s most terrifying Zombies experience to date.” This second add-on pack for Black Ops 2 will be making its debut on April 16 according to the source.

As authentic this piece of material may look, this is still all a rumor. Neither Activision or Treyarch have officially announced the content even though it's closing in on the date at hand. However, all this does sustain with previous reports that have come around and all the information is tying into a new DLC.
We can note that there are some things that are missing if you compare this promotional material to that of the Revolution one. To start, there isn't a new weapon; from what I can see, there are no 'bonus' items at all.

Hopefully we can expect a briefing from Treyarch about the downloadable content Uprising soon.

Rockstar has officially released the box art for Grand Theft Auto V

Finally the moment has come and Rockstar officially released the box art for Grand Theft Auto V! Now we’ve all seen the some speculation and mock up versions of the box, but this one is the real deal! If you’re interested in reading about the mural or the mock up prior to this you can.

Sadly the release wasn’t much of a surprise since it was expected and some of the mock ups share similarities with the actual box art. As you can see there isn't a rating on the box art, however we can assume that Rockstar is talking to the ESRB and getting the rating M for Mature finalized.

And if you’re one of those people who are skeptical about the legitimacy of things you can check out Rockstar Game’s Facebook page and the official Grand Theft Auto V Facebook page. And you gotta love follow up stories right? Rest assured there will be more news about Grand Theft Auto V leading up to it's release.

Eidos Montreal release a new trailer for Thief

Thief has just gotten a new trailer mere hours ago, and I'm here to say the obvious, it looks stunningly gorgeous.

At the very end the trailer mentions the game coming on next gen consoles and PC, so for those with older PCs and/or are not intending on purchasing the next gen consoles, you may want to rethink your decisions, and yes, just for Thief.
